CBS CENTRE, UCC Marks First Anniversary Of The Commissioning

Exactly a year today, the immediate past Vice Chancellor of UCC, Professor Domwini Dabire Kuupole accompanied by the learned Professor, Patrick Otieno Lumumba, commissioned the Campus Broadcasting Services (CBS) Center.
The commissioning paved way for the eventual relocation of ATL FM from studio 442 ATL Hall, old site into the Campus Broadcasting Services Center.
The centre currently houses ATL FM and ATL FM online.

An official opening ceremony last year signifying the official maiden broadcast of ATL FM from the Kofi Totobi Quakyi Studio, saw the attendance of some members of the University management, well-wishers and pioneers of the station. For many in the university community, September 21 will be an unforgettable landmark in the history of ATL FM and University of Cape Coast at large.

School Of Busines, UCC Holds 2017 Deans Award

The School of Business, University of Cape Coast on Tuesday held its 8th edition of the Annual Dean’s Award.
The award recognizes and honors students who excel at the end of the academic year by obtaining an average CGPA of 3.5 and above.

This year’s award saw 173 students from level 100 - 300 in eight programmes of the school rewarded for their excellence. Out of this number,106 were Bcom(Accounting),17 Bcom (Finance),3 Bcom(HRM), 28 Bcom(Management), 6 Procurement and Supply Chain, 4 Bcom(Marketing) and Bachelor of Management Studies students.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana sponsored the award for the overall best student in each level, overall best female student in each program and best student in Accounting.

Some consistent students who have repeatedly received the Dean’s Award over the years were also honored.
They received prices ranging from certificates to books, cash and scholarships.

The motivational speaker for the program, Mr. Victor Kpentey, who is the financial controller for Rendevor Ghana, urged students to always have open minds, learn and challenge themselves to strive for the best. He also encouraged them to be innovative and entrepreneurial.

SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, UCC To Support One-District-One-Factory

The School of Business, University of Cape Coast has expressed willingness to support government’s one district one factory project in the Central Region.
This was disclosed at a stakeholders meeting held on Tuesday by the Cape Coast Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry with support from the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Cape Coast.

The gathering aimed at bringing on board all stakeholders in the Central Region to plan on how to facilitate the implementation of the one district one factory project.

In an interview with the Vice Dean of the School of Business, Dr Siaw Frimpong, he said the School of Business, UCC is ready to help in the implementation of the one district one factory project in the area of business plan, financial issues, accounting and management.

"As a university and particularly a Business School, our main area is business and therefore if we are thinking of this One District One Factory we should be in the position to help in terms of Business plan, proposal development and financial Issues and Analysis",
he added.

"We want Central Region to grow and if as a university we can’t come in to help, then what else can we do?"
Dr Siaw Frimpong added that, the School of Business is also willing to collaborate with the College of Agriculture and other institutions in the university to provide maximum support for the one district one factory project.
