School Of Busines, UCC Holds 2017 Deans Award

The School of Business, University of Cape Coast on Tuesday held its 8th edition of the Annual Dean’s Award.
The award recognizes and honors students who excel at the end of the academic year by obtaining an average CGPA of 3.5 and above.

This year’s award saw 173 students from level 100 - 300 in eight programmes of the school rewarded for their excellence. Out of this number,106 were Bcom(Accounting),17 Bcom (Finance),3 Bcom(HRM), 28 Bcom(Management), 6 Procurement and Supply Chain, 4 Bcom(Marketing) and Bachelor of Management Studies students.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana sponsored the award for the overall best student in each level, overall best female student in each program and best student in Accounting.

Some consistent students who have repeatedly received the Dean’s Award over the years were also honored.
They received prices ranging from certificates to books, cash and scholarships.

The motivational speaker for the program, Mr. Victor Kpentey, who is the financial controller for Rendevor Ghana, urged students to always have open minds, learn and challenge themselves to strive for the best. He also encouraged them to be innovative and entrepreneurial.
